ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS

Using premium muscle relaxants

Anti-wrinkle injections are used to relax the muscles in the face and neck, resulting in a temporary relief from lines and wrinkles to give a natural, relaxed and refreshed look.

At Central Wagga Medical and Skin Clinic we are not anti wrinkle! Wrinkles give your face character and expression.  The trick is to know which muscles to relax and how much product to use, so that lines and wrinkles are softened, while still allowing you to move your face and look natural.

This is where Dr Tracey’s expertise is vital. As a doctor with a thorough understanding of facial anatomy and of the chemistry of the muscle relaxant product, she is in the best position to be able to give you a safe and natural treatment that you will be happy with.

The best compliment I ever get is when my patients refer their friends and family to me for treatment of problematic lines and wrinkles.

Once they have experienced the difference and what my practice has to offer, they want to tell those they care most about so that they too can be in safe hands.
— Dr Tracey Purnell

Time is taken to assess the dynamics of the muscles of each individual’s face through different facial expressions. This is to ensure the most natural effect is created through specific injection points. Using this approach, we can balance the push and pull effect of the muscles.

At our clinic, we pride ourselves for making sure you are able to move your muscles and not lose your full expression. Our patients come from all walks of life; what they have in common is the desire to still look like themselves. Our treatments make our patients look like they’ve had some much needed sleep or a holiday.

+ What areas are you able to treat?

There are many areas on the face that can be treated. As part of her thorough assessment process, our quailified injectors will look at your face: how it moves, what muscles are being used for which facial movement, and then advise you what areas are suitable to treat.

Some of the most common areas we treat are:

  • Forehead
  • Frown
  • Smile lines (crows feet)
  • ‘Bunny’ lines around the nose
  • Upper and lower lip lines
  • In addition Dr Tracey uses the muscle relaxants to treat:
  • Gummy smile
  • Turned down lips
  • Jaw/facial slimming
  • Excessive sweating in the arm pits

+ How do anti-wrinkle injections work?

Muscle relaxants are made of a natural product that temporarily stops the nerve and muscle from ‘talking” to each other. When a muscle contracts less under the skin, the lines and wrinkles formed on the surface of the skin are lessened. Muscle relaxants can also be used to treat a ‘gummy smile’ and for slimming the jaw line. In addition, they can be used to treat excessive sweating in the arm pits.

+ Are anti-wrinkle injections safe?

There are 3 brands of muscle relaxant available in Australia. We use two of the most popular brands, and these have been used in the treatment of lines and wrinkles for over 15 years. It has a high safety record when used by a trained health professional.

+ How soon will I see the results?

You will see a softening and reduction in your lines and wrinkles after 2-3 days.

+ How long will the results last?

This is variable as it depends on how fast your body breaks down the product. You should get at least 4 months of wrinkle reduction and many patients get up to 6 months. With repeated injections, the lines reduce more and more, so that less product is needed and results will be more long lasting.

+ How much will a treatment cost?
